De Saage CBD oil contains natural hemp extract with 500mg or 5% CBD together with MCT coconut oil. The full spectrum CBD oil means it contains all the cannabinoids for a positive entourage effect. Using supercritical CO2 extraction, De Saage has prepared a premium CBD oil for daily use.

De Saage is one of the few CBD brands in Europe that produces its own premium CBD products. The family-run hemp farm is based at the 300-year-old Saage estate in Estonia.

They started organically growing hemp in 2021 at the height of the global coronavirus pandemic. The first harvest was 4 hectares of hand-sown, hand-picked, slow-dried, and cured Cannabis ruderalis. Using their own raw material, De Saage has produced natural CBD rich hemp tea as well as full spectrum CBD oil to help people with stress, anxiety, pain, and insomnia.

As a family of farmers, their focus is on producing their own premium CBD products using artisan agriculture and a farm-to-table approach. De Saage farm is slowly increasing its hemp production each season, with up to 700 hectares available for hemp cultivation by 2025.

All De Saage products are organically home-grow and harvested by hand.

What is CBD?

CBD is short for cannabidiol, a chemical compound found in the cannabis plant. There are over 80 known cannabinoids, CBD is just one of them with numerous positive effects. CBD is not psychoactive and has numerous benefits including anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

Will CBD make me high?

No. CBD does not give you the high feeling you get from THC in marijuana. All our CBD products contain <0.2% THC which has no psychoactive effect.

How long before I feel the effects of CBD?

It depends on your dosing but generally 30 minutes after consuming CBD, you should start noticing its calming effect. Other CBD benefits are experienced over time, and it is recommended to take CBD over a period of two weeks at least to notice its full-blown impact.

Can I take CBD while pregnant or during breastfeeding?

We cannot advise on the impact or potential side effects of CBD experienced during pregnancy or nursing. Please always consults with your physician before consuming CBD.

Is CBD safe for children?

Although CBD is a natural, safe product, which can help with a number of conditions such as seizures, we always recommend consulting with your child’s paediatrician before giving CBD to your child. Generally speaking, CBD products are meant for adult use only.

Is CBD legal in Europe?

Yes. CBD is legal in most European countries as long as it has a THC level below 0.2%. Some exceptions include Austria and Luxembourg, which allow CBD products with a THC content up to 0.3% or France which only allows CBD isolate products with 0% THC.

All the CBD products in our online store contain less than 0.2% THC which is the legal limit allowed within the European Union. This means all our hemp-derived products are legal within the EU. NB! CBD is currently illegal in Slovakia and Lithuania.

Is CBD oil considered a novel food?

Yes. The EU Regulation (EU) 2015/2283 classifies CBD as a novel food, which includes foods and supplements not used in the European Union before May 15th, 1997. Having a novel food status means CBD can only be purchased online for personal use, or for topical use and as a souvenir.

How do I know if I’m buying high-quality CBD?

The CBD market is filled with white label CBD brands looking to make a profit. To avoid buying low-quality CBD products it’s important to research the company you want to buy from. Ask for third-party certificates of analysis, and also ask about the conditions in which the hemp is grown.

What’s the difference between hemp and marijuana?

Hemp is the industrial cannabis plant with a THC below 0.2%. Industrial hemp is legal throughout Europe, and is mostly used for its fibre, seeds, flower, and CBD extracts. Marijuana is the cannabis plant with a THC content higher than 0.2% which is restricted and/or illegal in the EU.

What hemp variety do you grow?

We grow Finola. For more than a decade, FINOLA has been one of the top EU-certified hemp varieties, particularly for industrial use. This Finnish auto-flowering dioecious variety suits our climate and is an excellent source for grain, oil, and fibre but we also use it for flower as the total CBD can reach between 1-15%.

Is your hemp EU-certified?

Yes. All our CBD products come from EU-certified hemp plants that are grown on site at our hemp farm in Estonia. As well as growing hemp using EU-certified seeds, we also ensure we have a THC level under 0.2% to comply with EU laws. Each hemp harvest is also third-party tested.

What extraction method do you use?

Together with our extraction partner in the EU, we use supercritical CO2 extraction to produce our premium CBD oil. This extraction process guarantees full spectrum CBD oil containing all the valuable cannabinoids (CBD/CBDa/THC/THCa).

How much CBD should I take?

Our recommended dosage for CBD oil is up to 150mg per day. Our 10ml 5% CBD oil contains 500mg with 200 drops per bottle. This means 1 drop is 2.5mg, and 1 full dropper is around 50mg, so up to 3 droppers a day can keep you calm and collected, enjoying the full benefits of CBD.

What is the difference between full spectrum, broad spectrum, and isolate CBD?

Full-spectrum CBD has all the natural cannabinoids of the cannabis plant, including <0.2% THC.

Broad-spectrum CBD contains most of the same compounds as full-spectrum but with 0% THC.

CBD isolates contain only CBD as a concentrated extract, with none of the other cannabinoids.

Can I give CBD to my pet?

Yes. CBD is suitable for both humans and animals. CBD can help your dog, cat, or horse reduce anxiety, inflammation and pain. Please always consults with your veterinarian before giving CBD to your pet.

What is artisan agriculture?

We believe there is a growing demand for CBD products with a clear provenance, meaning we know exactly where it came from. Artisan agriculture promotes growing, harvesting and farming using traditional, organic, sustainable and locally-based methods. Artisan farming includes:

  • Production of high quality niche market items that clients will pay a premium for.
  • The distinct lack of toxic chemicals, large machinery, and degraded landscapes.
  • Pasture based grazing for livestock, who play an important function in the nutrient cycling.
  • Direct marketing to communities, families, and specialty stores.
  • Prices that reflect the whole life cost and provide farmers with a sustainable livelihood.
  • A frequent priority of human labour over large scale mechanisation.
  • On-farm intern/mentorship opportunities.
  • On-farm composting and nutrient cycling.
  • Customised and creative systems for crop and livestock rotation.
  • Sustainable farming with a positive environmental impact.
